Egypt is undergoing a major transformation of its economy in general and its energy sector in particular. In 2014, the government of Egypt launched the formulation of a long-term ‘Egypt Vision 2030’. The second pillar of this vision is dedicated to the energy sector and outlines the country’s ‘Strategic Objectives for Energy to 2030.
Law No. 196, for the regulation of the gas market activities (the “Gas Law” or “Law”) was put into entry on the 2nd of August, 2017. As the License is the legal document issued by The Gas Regulator and by which an entity can practice any of the gas market activities GASCO got three licenses
To be capable of managing & operating gas transmission system and to convey and dispatch gas through the national Transmission Network.
To be capable of managing & operating gas distribution system networks in accordance with the related concession agreement and allows to convey gas through a system of distribution pipes to any premises within an area authorized.
To be capable to Supply and sell own gas or gas owned by others to eligible consumers.
