Easy, Quick and Effective tool of managing maintenance, the in–line inspection is one of the smart business choices adopted by GASCO to achieve efficient pipeline operation and improve planning, positioning through utilizing the proper repair procedures. By the end of year 2017, GASCO inspected 4400 km of national grid pipelines Since establishment of GASCO through our integrity center "PIMCO" which was established in 2006 for this purpose.
GIS is the most efficient method of tracking, monitoring, mapping and data basing for an array of transmission faculties. GIS correlates data obtained from the in-line inspection survey and the assessment procedure for each fault in the pipeline and its repair method. All stored in the GIS, the pipeline as-built maps are produced by combining inspection survey applying GPS (Global positioning System) to locate the pipelines and the geographic digital maps of the pipeline routes as a basic layer in the information system . Up-grading activities of this project covered About 44 sites feeding the most important customers in electric sector, fertilizer plants, cement factories, …. the project aims at the following : - Renewing of instruments & control devices using the latest technology products for better and more flexible operation, control and local remote monitoring of the gas plants. - securing proper performance to gas stations. - Increasing the capacity of some stations. - Supporting the stand-by facilities for the critical customers. - Reviewing gas measurement system to maintain proper accuracy. GASCO upgraded 40 stations since its establishment in March 1997 till the end year 2017.
The project aims at the following:
- Comprehensive revamping of valve rooms in different areas, maintaining uniformity in shape and components.
- Providing protection to the valve rooms against hazards and underground water table.
- Creating easy access roads to all the valve rooms . Approximately all the 210 valve rooms of the national gas grid have been developed.
The project aims at the following :
- Achieving flexible remote controlling of the key valves relevant to the main distribution centers in the gas network.
- Emergency shutdown possibility for any of the network sections in case of top emergency.
- Collecting the main pressure data from different nodes and legs in the network, which are considered the main feed data required for leak detection and process simulation software package representing the main part of the SCADA software.
