Natural Gas Pipelines.
Under the supervision of EGAS, GASCO is pursuing the implementation of the petroleum ministry plan aiming at the expansion of the national gas grid capacity.
Through the past years, GASCO has managed to supply gas to development areas in Sinai passing by Oyoun Mousa, El-Arish & Rafah ending in Sharm El-Sheikh, covering the west coast of the Red Sea reaching Hurghada city.
During 2014, GASCO added 24 km of main trunking pipelines to achieve full flexibility of the grid expanding it to the farthest point in upper Egypt "Aswan Governorate through the south valley pipeline".
1- Supplying gas to Abu Banha power station (3,7 km -20"): operation started in March 2014 with capital investment of the project is L.E 29 million pounds .
2- Supplying gas to El-Sokhna Power Station : operation started in January 2013, the capital investment of the project is L.E 15 million pounds.
3- Edco - Maadia pipeline (20 km – 20") : operation started in March 2014 with capital investment of the project is L.E 69 million pounds For supporting gas supply to Alex area as well as securing gas supply to Abu Qir power station.
4- Ameryia - Sidi Krir pipeline (7.5 km – 24") : peration started in May 2014 with capital investment of the project is L.E 48 million pounds For supporting gas supply to Alex area as well as securing gas supply to Sidi Krir power station.
5- El-Sadat - Dahshor pipeline (75 km – 42") : peration started in July 2013 For supporting gas supply to South Valley pipeline to cater for present and future loads.
6- El-Sokhna Importing Gas Pipeline (5,9 km – 32") : for receiving additional quantities of natural gas at El-Sokhna Port with scheduled operation in August 2014 the capital investment of the project is L.E 58 million pounds.
* El Nubaria – El Sadat pipeline (70 km – 36"): is under execution to support the south valley pipeline to cater for present and future loads with scheduled operation in Dec. 2014
* Gamasa – Fenosa pipeline (34 km – 42"): For securing supply gas to the West Damietta power station with scheduled operation in August 2014. The capital investment of the project is L.E 370 million pounds.
* el nubaria -meet nama pipeline (105 km - 32") :for supplying gas to north giza power station . for the first phase of total length 66 km operation is scheduled to be in October 2014 while in April 2015 for the second phase of total length 39 km the capital investment of the project is L.E 733 million pounds .
By the end of year 2014, The National Gas Grid capacity will reach 215 MMSCMD and the length of the main truncking lines will reach 7340 km
* Supply of power plants with natural gas.
- Delivery of gas to the power plants implemented by Siemens:
As part of Gasco's commitment to implement the policy of the oil sector towards the delivery of gas to the power plants, and in accordance with the directives of the political leadership to supply gas to the new power stations of the New capital, Beni Suef and El-Barlas supplied by Siemens to add 14400 MW to the unified network of electricity Egypt, The main feeding lines with a total of 65 km and the number of three temporary reduction and measurement stations that have already been completed before the specified time.
In May 2017, gas was pumped through the gas import line from Sumid port to support the new power station of the new capital. In July 2017, gas was pumped in the new capital line of Dahshour to support the power plant Beni Suef, and is currently equipped to boost the gas for 3 stations of permanent reduction and measurement, and the total investment cost of these projects 3.6 billion pounds.
- Gas delivery to five-year plan stations - five-year plan:
During 2017, Gasco completed the executive procedures for the projects required to supply the remaining power stations included in the five-year plan for the electricity sector 2012/2017, which are power plants (Helwan, West Assiut, 6th of October, Suez, Mahmoudia and West Cairo). Stations of natural gas about 30.5 million m 3 / day to produce 5330 MW when they are fully operational, where the implementation of a series of lines 62 km long and diameters ranging from 16 to 42 inches in addition to the number of six stations and measuring investment cost of 1.1 Billion pounds.
It is also worth noting that Gasco started the necessary procedures for the implementation of the project of the Tina / Capital gas pipeline with a length of 175 km and a diameter of 42 inches at an estimated cost of 3 billion pounds, in addition to 2 compressors at Dahshor giant compressor station at an estimated cost of LE 1.5 billion
